- Son of Mimas (the son of the first Aeolus)
- Aeolus lived on the floating island of Aeolia and was visited by Odysseus and his men in the Odyssey
- He gave them a bag containing the four winds to ensure smooth sailing
- Odysseus's crew members greedily opened it and they were blown back to Aeolia where Aeolus refuses to further help them
