- The second Aeolus
- Son of Poseidon and Arne (daughter of (the first) Aeolus)
- The twin brother of Boeotus
- Arne told her father that she had a child with Poseidon
- He did not believe her
- Gave her to Metapontus, King of Icaria (who already had a wife, Autolyte (who Aeolus and Boeotus then killed))
- Boeotus and Arne fleed to southern Thessaly and founded Boeotia
- Aeolus fleed to a group of islands around the Tyrrhenian Sea
- He named them Aeolian islands
- Had six sons and daughters
- Were all very happy until it was found out that his son, Marcareus and his daughter, Canace were having a child (together)
- Aeolus expels Marcareus
- Canace commits suicide of shame
- Some say that Aeolus fed the child to the dogs
- Others say that the child, a daughter named Amphrissa, was rescued and later loved by Apollo
